Pennsylvania Sports Betting Revenue Rebounds with March Madness

March Madness betting served as a boost to sports wagering activity in Pennsylvania.

The state reported a monthly handle of $715 million, an increase of 19.7% from February’s $597.1 million and was 27.6% higher than March 2021’s $560.3 million.

The online sports betting handle was $667 million, up 19.5% from February’s $558.1 million and 29.7% from March 2021’s $514.3 million increase.

Pennsylvania sports betting gross revenue in March was $30.4 million. It was -$442,847 in February, while this year’s March total was 3.6% higher than March 2021’s $29.4 million.

Pennsylvania Gaming Handle, Revenue

Pennsylvania set a new monthly record in table games gross revenue, taking in $94.3 million, up 26.8% from February’s $74.4 million. The old record was set in October 2021 with $89.1 million in revenue.

The interactive slots handle for March was $2.288 billion, up 14.5% from February’s $1.999 billion.

Pennsylvania interactive slots gross revenue was also a new record at $79.2 million, 16.3% higher than February’s $68.1 million. Previously, the record was $71.8 million, set in January 2022.

Pennsylvania’s retail slots handle was $2.774 billion, an increase of 11.3% from February’s $2.492 billion.

March’s retail slots gross terminal revenue was $214.7 million, up 10.3% from February’s $194.7 million.

The interactive banking table handle was $2.008 billion, down 2.4% from February’s $2.057 billion.

Pennsylvania’s interactive banking table gross revenues also set a new record at $35.7 million, up 13.6% from February’s $31.4 million. The previous record was $33.1 million, set in January 2022.
