Prince Harry’s nude party at Las Vegas hotel-casino is back in the news with the release of his memoir “Spare.”

In 2012, the 27-year-old, single Duke of Sussex was photographed nude near a billiards table in a Las Vegas Strip luxury resort. In one photograph, he is seen hugging an unidentified nude woman.

According to a story this week on the Daily Mail website, Prince Harry has written that his sense of shame about the Las Vegas episode was so great it made it hard ‘to draw a clean breath.’”

Memoir Takes Royal Family, Media To Task

On Sunday, Prince Harry, 38, appeared on the CBS news show “60 Minutes” discussing the newly released memoir “Spare” ($36, Penguin Random House). On the publisher’s website, the 416-page book is is described as a “landmark publication” complete with “raw, unflinching honesty.”

Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, live in Santa Barbara, California, with their two children.

In the Netflix docuseries “Harry & Meghan” and in media interviews, the Sussexes have been critical of the Royal Family and the British press.

‘Random Naked Hugs’

In reports about the party in Las Vegas, British tabloids at the time published cover photographs of Harry without clothing. On its front page, the Daily Mirror ran a headline that read, “Harry Naked Romp.” The Sun published a photograph of the unclothed prince with the headline, “Heir It Is!”

The nude event occurred at Wynn Las Vegas during a day in which Prince Harry and friends were partying poolside and elsewhere in town, according to published accounts. Casino developer Steve Wynn opened the luxury resort in 2005 on the Las Vegas Strip where the Mob-connected Desert Inn once stood.

One woman who claimed she attended the nude party, Carrie Reichert, said the prince was “playing air guitar with pool sticks” in the suite and giving “random naked hugs,” according to People magazine.

She added that Prince Harry was “trying to get everybody to get naked.”

“That was the whole point of him being naked,” she said.

An unnamed palace insider told Us Weekly Reichert’s version of events is untrue, adding that “people are making up stories for money."

Alleged Royal Briefs Auctioned at Hustler Club

The nude episode continues to generate news in Las Vegas.

In August, John Katsilometes of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that Reichart, a former adult dancer known as Carrie Royale, intended to sell underwear the prince supposedly left in Las Vegas. There is no tag or logo on the underwear.

The briefs had been on display at Harry Mohney’s Erotic Heritage Museum and were to be auctioned at Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club. The museum and club are near the Las Vegas Strip.

On Monday, Sonya Wilner, a manager at Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club in Las Vegas, told Gambling.com the auction occurred, though she was uncertain what the buyer ended up paying.
