Shannon McCallum Joins Oracle As Regional VP

McCallum spent 16 years in Las Vegas hotel and casino operations at high-volume properties, where she worked to automate front-desk processes and reduce guest wait times. 

"Technology isn't the answer for every guest, as we know we're always going to have guests that want to check in in person," McCallum told CDC Gaming. 

"However, many people come to Las Vegas not just once a year, but four times a year or even more often, especially from neighboring states like California, and to be able to skip the line if there is any kind of a wait pattern and go right to their room for those guests, it's really attractive."

McCallum said the same efficiency focus extends to staff-facing technology. A system launched last year at Resorts World Las Vegas includes a "how do I do" function that directs new team members to the correct part of the platform when they need guidance on specific features.

In her new role, McCallum plans to build relationships with properties across North America and with cruise lines to keep them informed as Oracle rolls out new features, communicating both current capabilities and upcoming developments. 

Hotel teams, she noted, often focus on immediate priorities such as upcoming check-in days, holidays or citywide conventions, leaving limited time to track emerging technology on their own.
