Two Pennsylvania Gambling Providers Hit By $27,500 Fines

Two of Pennsylvania’s premier gambling providers, Stakelogic, USA and TA Operating, LLC, were each slapped with a total of $27,500 in fines for separate infractions, with the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) announcing the sanctions during its January monthly meeting.

Stakelogic Bears The Brunt With A $22,500 Fine

Stakelogic’s failure to inform the PGCB about the transfer of its majority shareholding cost the PA online casino software provider a hefty $22,500. Not the best of starts for the games manufacturer, having only received its state licence less than a month before.

However, it appears that this hasn’t dampened CEO Stephan van den Oetelaar’s enthusiasm for doing business in the Keystone State. In a statement, he freely admitted the faux pax and assured stakeholders that the error would not be repeated. Good relations appear to be fully reinstated, with the gambling board Chair Denise Smyler responding that the PGCB looks forward to Stakelogic’s continued business in Pennsylvania.

TA Operating’s Inadequate Surveillance Costs It $5,000

A considerably lighter fine of $5,000 was imposed on TA Operating (aka TravelCenters of America), for failing to provide adequate surveillance in its Video Gaming Terminal (VGT) area at a specific location. The site was found to lack effective surveillance and there was no staff oversight of the gaming area.

The fine was only imposed after the company had already been issued with warnings for similar issues in contravention of Commonwealth law. TA Operating blamed power fluctuations for the oversight, while reaffirming its commitment towards respecting Pennsylvania’s gambling regulations.
