West Virginia iGaming Revenue Hits $39.5M In September

West Virginia's regulated online casinos generated approximately $39.5 million in revenue during September 2026, according to weekly interactive-wagering filings published by the West Virginia Lottery, up 15.5% from the $34.2 million recorded in September 2025, which was itself a then-record month.
Because the Lottery reports iGaming revenue on a weekly rather than calendar-month basis, the September total is an approximation built from the five weekly filings that fall within the month, as compiled by Saturday Down South's review of the Lottery's public figures: $9.80 million (week ending Sept. 5, partially averaged), $9.08 million (Sept. 12), $7.49 million (Sept. 19), $9.81 million (Sept. 26) and a partial share of the $10.63 million week ending October 3.
A Slight Dip From August, But October Starts Strong
September's total was down 3.4% from August's $40.9 million, continuing a pattern of month-to-month fluctuation that has characterized West Virginia's iGaming market through 2026. With a 15% state tax rate applied to that revenue, September's activity generated roughly $5.9 million for the state.
The week ending October 3 recorded $10.6 million, the second-highest weekly total since the market launched, trailing only the $10.7 million week ending March 7. That suggests October could post stronger numbers than September once a full month of filings is available.
2026 Revenue Already Past Last Year's Full-Year Total
West Virginia's online casinos have now generated roughly $353.7 million through the first nine months of 2026, putting the state on pace to finish the year above $470 million.
For comparison, the state's full-year iGaming revenue for 2025 was $369.3 million, meaning October alone should push 2026 past last year's entire annual total. Monthly totals so far in 2026 have ranged from a low of $36.4 million in July to a high of $42.0 million in March.
