The World Series of Poker (WSOP) announced Monday that its domestic online poker product will be going live in Michigan.

WSOP Continues to Expand

First launching in Nevada in 2013, WSOP.com merged player pools with Nevada, New Jersey, and Delaware in 2018 to allow more players. This was known as the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement.

WSOP.com moved to New Jersey in 2018, then to Pennsylvania in July of 2021, using the Poker8 software, which came from their partner 888poker.

What Players Can Expect at WSOP

At WSOP.com, players in Michigan will find a “broad mix” of games, such as No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha.

Online poker players will also have access to daily guaranteed tournaments, exclusive 2022 WSOP satellites, gold bracelet events in Las Vegas, and BLAST Poker — a game in which you can win 10,000x your buy-in.

"With two world champions coming out of this state, Michigan is a special market for the WSOP," Ty Stewart, SVP of the World Series of Poker at Caesars Entertainment, said in a news release. "We're sorry it's taken so long, but WSOP.com is ready to make up for our late entry with industry-leading promotions, the biggest weekly tournaments, and player appreciation benefits like freerolls to the Main Event in Las Vegas."

With the launch of online poker in Michigan, WSOP is offering a two-part welcome bonus, including a $1,000 deposit match bonus and an additional $50, of which you will receive the first $25 upon signing up and the remaining $25 after your first deposit.

WSOP Signs Deal with Main Event Champ

Now that this launch is official, WSOP.com has signed a partnership/ambassador deal with 2009 Main Event champion Joe Cada, a Michigan resident. To further the offers in Michigan, Cada is offering $1,000 to anyone who can outlast him in the 2022 WSOP Main Event.

As part of this partnership/ambassador deal, Cada will also perform live streaming online poker strategy sessions on the site, get involved with bounty events, and host live tournaments around the state of Michigan.

"It's go time in Michigan," Cada said in the release. "I know a lot of local players are excited that WSOP.com is finally live in the state and I'm personally looking forward to getting to know all the great poker players at tournaments and online events soon. Game on!"

How to Play in WSOP Events

For those in Michigan interested in entering into WSOP tournaments, WSOP.com is the only online site on which you can access events such as the Main Event, which is hosted on the Las Vegas Strip. Players will also be able to take part in a monthly freeroll to win a VIP trip to Las Vegas.

There are tournaments weekly such as Sunday Major and Six Figure Sundays, which have prizes ranging from $50,000 to $100,000. The first online circuit for WSOP.com’s largest tournaments begins on April 20 and concludes on May 1, when you will be awarded 12 WSOP Gold Rings.

There will be a rewards program for players to take part in, including players receiving two online reward credits for every dollar of rake or fee made on the site.

You can redeem your points for either cash, tournament tickets, or, for in person, you will access Caesars Rewards for “unbeatable hotel, food & beverage, entertainment, and gaming opportunities at Caesars destinations — including resorts in the heart of The Las Vegas Strip — and unique WSOP experiences.”
