Aria's Jewel Nightclub To Close On November 21

Jewel Nightclub at Aria Resort & Casino in Las Vegas will close permanently after business on Saturday, November 21, the resort announced on Monday. There are no immediate plans for the space, according to Aria.

Easy's Cocktail Lounge and Lift Bar are the remaining nightlife venues at Aria, which is one of the leading casino operators on the Strip. A new venue, Alibi Cocktail Social, is scheduled to open on Friday, November 13, eight days before Jewel's last night.

Until the closure, Jewel's hours of operation and reservations remain available through Aria's website, according to FOX5 Las Vegas.

A Decade On The Strip

Jewel opened on May 19, 2016, replacing Haze Nightclub, which had opened with the resort in December 2009, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.

The club was operated by Tao Group Hospitality in partnership with the owner, MGM Resorts International, which announced the closure on Monday morning.

MGM Resorts Senior Vice President of Entertainment Mio Danilovic said the two sides have mutually agreed to close the club, and added that MGM Resorts offers nightlife parties outside of Jewel. The Review-Journal put the venue at 24,000 square feet.

The Parties It Hosted

The Review-Journal's coverage recalls some of the nights the club hosted. Usher played an unbilled show there, and the Golden State Warriors and the Las Vegas Aces both held championship celebrations at the venue. Aces' victory celebrations took place at Jewel in October 2023.

UFC president Dana White also rented the club for his daughter Savannah's 16th birthday in August 2022. The party hosted 300 invited guests, with performances from Lil Uzi Vert, DaBaby, Louis the Child and DJ MAKJ, and included LED drummers, costumed dancers and 22 custom-designed cakes.

Usher's appearance came on May 3, 2024, in an unannounced set after the Lovers & Friends festival at Las Vegas Festival Grounds was cancelled because of high winds, the Review-Journal said. Jermaine Dupri and Lil Jon were also on the mic for a time, and Victoria Monet joined the DJ booth.

Members of the Warriors, including owners Joseph Jacob and Peter Guber, celebrated at the club after winning the NBA championship in June 2017. The Aces partied there after claiming their second WNBA title in October 2023.

What Happens To The Space

Aria has not said what will replace Jewel. The resort says there are no immediate plans for the space. Danilovic said Aria and Tao Group Hospitality have had a strong and collaborative partnership and that MGM remains committed to exploring future opportunities together.

He also pointed guests to other options, saying MGM Resorts continues to offer a variety of nightlife, highlighted by Marquee at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, which is steps from Aria. Jewel itself keeps operating until its final night on November 21.
