BetMGM Renews Connor McDavid Responsible Gambling Deal

BetMGM has renewed its partnership with three-time Hart Memorial Trophy winner Connor McDavid, extending an arrangement that centres on the operator's responsible gambling messaging. The multiyear extension was announced on 15 October, and the company's release did not give financial terms.
McDavid joined BetMGM's roster of ambassadors in March 2022 and has fronted its player-protection initiatives since.
BetMGM chief executive Adam Greenblatt credited the campaign with encouraging more players to use tools such as deposit limits. The company said the results show that thoughtful messaging can prompt meaningful action, and it plans to keep working with McDavid so that gaming stays fun and entertaining.
What The Renewed Deal Covers
Under the renewed agreement, McDavid will keep appearing in BetMGM responsible gambling content across broadcast, digital and social platforms.
The campaign is set to reach new audiences and new markets, and a third responsible gambling ad featuring McDavid will begin airing soon, according to the announcement.
The messaging points players to BetMGM's in-app protections: deposit limits, stake limits, time-out features and self-exclusion options.
McDavid said in the release that discipline and smart decisions matter in hockey and in sports betting alike, and that the tools help players stay in control of their play.
The Numbers Behind The Campaign
BetMGM said its Mullet Over campaign, which launched in December 2025, has contributed to a 27% year-over-year rise in the number of accounts with deposit limits.
Richard Taylor, the operator's director of responsible gambling, said the relationship with McDavid has made responsible gambling more relevant to sports fans, and that growing use of the company's tools shows the effect of the effort.
Where BetMGM Operates
BetMGM is currently available in 31 markets with mobile and retail offerings, and says responsible gambling remains a key focus as it expands and adds features.
The operator also provides the GameSense programme, which was developed by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation and is licensed to MGM Resorts, inside its mobile and desktop platforms. We covered an earlier push when MGM and BetMGM beefed up their responsible gaming tools.
