Happy Valley Casino Revenue Falls To $2.04M In September

Happy Valley Casino in State College generated $2,042,124 in gaming revenue in September 2026, its lowest full-month total since opening. The figure comes from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board's September revenue report, and it was the smallest of any casino in that report.
The result stands out because Pennsylvania as a whole grew. Statewide gaming revenue reached $555,036,870 in September, up 4.07% on September 2025, according to the same report. Student outlet Onward State noted that three Penn State home football games fell in the month.
Five Months Of Revenue
The casino began generating slot and table revenue on April 24, and the board's April report shows $835,493 for that partial month. Full-month totals from the board's monthly releases since then:
May: $3,613,600. June: $2,409,617. July: $2,508,296. August: $2,256,552. September: $2,042,124.
September is 9.5% below August and 43.5% below May, the first full month of operation. July was the only month after May to rise.
Slot machines produced $1,618,690 in September, down 12.5% from $1,850,718 in August. Table games moved the other way, rising from $405,835 to $423,434. Slots still account for about four-fifths of the casino's total.
Against The Statewide Trend
Happy Valley's table-game uptick ran against the statewide pattern. Retail table games revenue across Pennsylvania fell 18.07% in September to $60,163,644, from $73,429,242 a year earlier, the board reports. Retail slot revenue statewide rose 2.44% to $196,159,216.
That makes Happy Valley's slot decline the weaker side of its month. The casino has no year-earlier month to compare against, so the board's report shows no percentage change for it, only the month-to-month movement above.
How It Compares
The next-smallest total in the September report was The Casino at Nemacolin at $2,456,479. Parx Casino Shippensburg, another of the state's smaller properties, reported $3,538,665. Larger venues such as Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, which took in $113,587,043 online and retail combined, operate on a different scale.
Onward State reported that Happy Valley also trailed the state's other Category 4 casinos, the smaller mini-casino licences. It put Hollywood Casino York at about $10.59 million for the month, against roughly $3.54 million at Parx Casino Shippensburg.
Across all forms of gaming, the board said tax revenue from September play came to $242,630,497, a reminder of how small Happy Valley's share is within a market of that size.
What To Expect
The board reports gross gaming revenue, not profit, so the figures do not show how the casino is performing against its operating costs.
For bettors on sportsbooks and visitors in central Pennsylvania, Happy Valley is a new regional option, and the next monthly report from the board will show whether revenue has settled at a steady level after the opening-month spike.
