Turtle Creek Casino Hotel and Online Partner in the Great Lake State

Turtle Creek Casino, one of the best gaming resorts in Michigan, has been making moves in the digital universe since 2021. Thanks to a deal with William Hill and, subsequently, Caesars Interactive Entertainment, the Turtle Creek Casino brand is as popular online as it is offline. For those that haven’t sampled the delights of this resort or its partner Caesars, which owns one of the best online casinos Michigan has to offer, here’s what you need to know:

Turtle Creek Hotel & Casino first opened its doors in July 2008, just 15 minutes from downtown Traverse City, the largest area north of the State. It’s the sister casino of Leelanau Sands Casino & Lodge, which is also owned by the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians. The tribe spent $116 million on the resort for one reason: to create an all-round entertainment experience. A sizable 56,000 square-foot gaming floor with over 1,000 games was installed, but that’s not the end of this casino’s charm.

A huge skylight gives the venue a light, airy feel and a 30-foot-high waterfall remind customers of the Great Lake State’s affinity with water. In fact, if you need a break from gaming, Turtle Creek Casino is surrounded by 900 acres of rolling green hills, spectacular woodland, and, of course, the inimitable Lake Michigan. With the wonders of nature less than a stone’s throw away and some of the best gaming facilities in the state on hand, Turtle Creek Casino has it all.

Unlike the online gambling age, which is 21, you can gamble at this casino resort if you’re 18 or over. And lay your head down thereafter in one of 137 modern rooms and suites.

It gets quieter during the week, even in the summer, but you’ll see the place get busy from Friday to Sunday by both locals and tourists. People typically spend entire afternoons and evenings there until the early hours of the morning, according to Google insights. The overall experience receives a decent 4-star rating from over 4,700 Google reviews. Guests praise the staff, service and atmosphere of both hotel and gambling floor, but not so much the food or amenities.

Caesars Interactive Entertainment Resort

For those that can’t travel or don’t want to, the Turtle Creek experience lives on thanks to Caesars Michigan Casino. Regarded as one of the best online casinos in the Great Lake State, this site is unsurprisingly a hive of activity, especially on weekends. Even though it doesn’t feature a digital hotel, bars, or restaurants, it does have games galore. And, if that’s not enough, it’s also big on bonuses.

  • Owners: Caesars Interactive Entertainment & Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians
  • Location: Michigan
  • Opening Hours: 24/7
  • Size: 150+ casino games
  • Features: Licensed and regulated, fair games, 24/7 customer support, safe payments, loyalty rewards, casino promotions

Turtle Creek Casino is great but sampling its delights does require a trip to Williamsburg. If you’d rather relax at home, you can play online anyway. As long as you’re 21+, within state lines, and can prove your identity, a world of online gaming awaits. Regardless of whether you want to use your computer or mobile device, you can access over 150 free/demo games, and real-money casino games, including slots, blackjack, roulette, and video poker.

In fact, what’s great about this online casino is that you can have the best of both worlds. Live dealer tables connect you to real dealers running table games in a remote location. This means you get the interaction and immersion of a live game combined with the convenience of the internet. Finally, just for good measure, you can earn loyalty rewards and unlock bonuses when you play real-money games. Basically, if you’re a fan of gaming, Turtle Creek Casino and its online partner, Caesars, have you covered from all angles.

The federally-recognized tribe - the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians also entered the sports betting scene in February 2020 when they partnered exclusively with (then) William Hill sportsbook. This brand was recognized largely as a leading oddsmaker in Europe but also wanted to enter the US market. This also led to the opening of Onyx Sports Book by Will Hill at Turtle Creek itself in the fall of 2020, as well as several satellite betting spots and Kiosks in Leelanau Sands.

The sportsbook (and its casino counterpart) were acquired and rebranded to Caesars sports and casino, which is how we recognize the group today. We offer exclusive welcome bonuses for both the online gambling and betting arms of this popular brand, as you can see below.
