VIDEO: Kindbridge Receives 'Responsible Gaming Award'

During a video interview on Gambling.com’s “The Edge,” Daniel Umfleet, founder of Kindbridge Behavioral Health, says a good early step to responsible gaming is for those seeking guidance to reach out.

“If you've even got a question in your mind, or if you've got a question about a loved one in your mind, or someone in your life in your mind that you are curious, reach out, have the conversation,” Umfleet said. “It's easy enough to get started.”

Umfleet, chairman and CEO of the Kindbridge Group, said various resources are available for those seeking help, including counseling.

“There’s everything from financial recovery services to financial counseling,” he said.

Umfleet and his team have received the 2025 American Gambling Awards “Responsible Gaming Award." The American Gambling Awards, established by Gambling.com, recognize the best companies, organizations and executives building the regulated American market for online gambling. Winners receive a Golden Eagle trophy engraved with their award's details.

Here's How To Contact Kindbridge

A graduate of Missouri State University, Umfleet, who also studied entrepreneurship at MIT’s Sloan School, said telltale signs can crop up that could be of concern for gamblers, signifying “you might want to stop for a second and think about what gambling is doing to your finances.”

“If that's the case,” he said, “there are lots of resources out there that can help in those events.”

Umfleet said the simplest way to reach out is to go online at kindbridge.com.

“There's a direct scheduling tool right on the website,” he said. “There's an AI chatbot right on the website that'll start answering questions if you've got questions and you're not ready to talk to someone. If you are ready to talk to someone, our phone number is 877-426-4258. We've got people answering the phone 24-7.”

At Kindbridge, Umfleet’s work has included solutions such as AI-driven responsible gambling tools and athlete mental-health programs.

In addition, Kindbridge assists the military community through an initiate at the Kindbridge Research Institute called Stigma Stand Down. This initiative is designed “to combat the stigma around mental health and gambling challenges faced by military personnel and veterans, helping them access care without fear of judgment or career risks,” the institute states.

The institute also is host to a Military Gambling Awareness Committee.
