Free High Stakes Poker Live Stream: PokerGO to Host Special Edition Episode
< class="grid-title">

In a sign of the times, PokerGO is set to live stream a special episode of High Stakes Poker on YouTube. The $200/$400 cash game will go live for free on April 27 and feature some of poker’s top pros and a line-up of colorful characters, including Eric Persson, Doug Polk, and Matt Berkey.

High Stakes Poker first aired in 2006 on GSN. It quickly became the benchmark for poker shows on TV because of its combination of six-figure pots, famous faces, and entertaining table talk. Only the events of Black Friday and a slowdown across the industry could keep High Stakes Poker off the air.

However, like all good shows, it returned in 2020 after a nine-year hiatus. PokerGO revived the fan-favorite and, since then, its executives have been innovating. The latest innovation from the creative minds at PokerGO HQ is a live episode of High Stakes Poker.

Mori Eskandani, President of PokerGO, said the decision to live stream an episode is part of a long-term strategy to make poker popular around the world.

“PokerGO is committed to increasing the worldwide visibility of the game we all love so much, and part of our strategy is new content offerings such as this live broadcast of High Stakes Poker that allows us to showcase online poker and the community on the biggest platform,” Eskandani said on April 17.

Not only is a live stream on YouTube a good chance to showcase poker to the world, it fits with the current zeitgeist. Live cash games, including Hustler Casino Live, have become hugely popular over the last two years. Eskandani and his team are fully aware of this, which is why High Stakes Poker is going live next week.

The High-Stakes Streaming Era

The special live episode of High Stakes Poker will be shown on PokerGo and, perhaps more significantly, YouTube. This means people worldwide can watch some of poker’s top players duke it out for free.

Although the line-up is subject to change, Brent Hanks, PokerGo Director of Programming, said those invited would suit the live format.

“This line-up at these stakes with the added dynamic of live stream engagement is the perfect recipe for a truly can’t-miss event,” said Hanks in the April 17 press release.

The line-up he’s referring to is expected to include the aforementioned Persson, Polk, and Berkey. Also tipped to join the $200/$400 cash game are Jennifer Tilly, Rob Yong, Nike Airball, and High Stakes Poker veteran Bill Klein.

Each player will buy in for a minimum of $100,000 and, as we’ve seen in previous shows, straddles and side bets are likely to feature heavily throughout the stream.

To watch the special edition of High Stakes Poker, visit PokerGO or the PokerGO YouTube channel. If you can’t watch High Stakes Poker live on April 27, don’t worry; the video will be available on YouTube once the stream concludes.
