The Tampa Bay Rays (23-15) are coming off a series win over the Detroit Tigers and now meet the Baltimore Orioles (15-24) in a three-game series beginning Friday.

The game is being played at Camden Yards in Baltimore. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m. ET.

The Rays opened the season with a three-game sweep of the visiting Orioles in St. Petersburg, Florida.

During the previous season, Tampa Bay beat Baltimore in 18 of 19 meetings. This included Tampa Bay’s 9-0 record at Camden Yards.

However, that dominance might hit a speed bump on Friday.

The first game in the Tampa Bay-Baltimore series this weekend is a situation where betting on a losing-record underdog, like Baltimore, could be profitable.

Highly Profitable Dog-Playing Betting System

The following model shows how this scenario could work in a bettor’s favor.

This betting system has feasted on underdogs, earning a 38-23 winning record, averaging a +145 underdog bet, and making 32 units per unit wagered over the last five seasons.

Here’s how it works: Bet on a home underdog of +100 or more that is facing a foe batting .215 or worse over the last 10 games and has a strong bullpen posting a WHIP of 1.000 or lower spanning their last five games.

This points to a betting opportunity that favors the Baltimore Orioles on the moneyline.

Friday’s Starting Pitchers

The Rays on Friday will hand the ball to left-handed pitcher Jalen Beeks (1-0, 1.72 ERA), a reliever making his first start this season.

Beeks has made nine appearances, totaling 15 2/3 innings, including 1 2/3 innings against the Orioles. In an 8-0 win over Baltimore on April 10, Beeks allowed two hits to go with four strikeouts and a walk.

The Orioles are coming off a 9-6 upset win over the New York Yankees, which ended Baltimore’s six-game losing skid.

Baltimore will turn to right-hander Tyler Wells, who comes into the game with a 1-3 record and 4.18 ERA.

In a 5-1 loss at Detroit on Sunday, Wells allowed three earned runs on eight hits, with two strikeouts and no walks over four innings.

High-Powered Betting Angle

Tampa Bay is just 14-30 on the moneyline, losing 20 units per unit wagered in road games following two games in which they allowed no more than a single run in each game.

That’s a perfect setup for Friday’s bet.

My best bet Friday is on the Baltimore Orioles on the moneyline, currently +115 at several sportsbooks, and I like this bet if it is priced at +100 or better.
