Throughout the season, we will give you betting advice for a National League and American League game each day and throw in a few quick pitches for player prop bets, Over-Under bets or moneyline bets on other games.

Interleague Best Bet

Atlanta Braves -155 at Boston Red Sox +135

7:10 p.m. ET

The Red Sox are playing their 51st game of the season priced as an underdog and 17th home game as the dog.

They are 7-10 in home games as the underdog, averaging a +121 home dog, resulting in a money-losing -10 % ROI this season.

Situational Trends and Angles

The following situational trends and angles support a best bet on the Braves using the -1.5 run line.

  • The Red Sox are 21-27, losing 14.5 units on the run line, when priced as a home dog in the last three seasons.
  • The Braves are 53-41, making 13.5 units on the run line, when priced as a road favorite over the past three seasons.
  • The Braves are 34-20, making 14 units on the run line, after having lost four or five of their previous six games spanning the last three seasons.

I will bet the Braves, using the –1.5 run line priced at –105 as offered at BetMGM.

National League Best Bet

Cincinnati Reds +250 at New York Mets –290 | 8.5 runs

7:10 p.m. ET

The New York Mets extended their current winning streak to four games when they beat the Reds 5-1 on Monday. The Mets now lead the Atlanta Braves by seven games and the Philadelphia Phillies by 10 games in the NL East standings and are one of four teams that have outscored their opponents by 100 or more runs on the season.

Mike Minor will start for the Reds and is 1-8 in 11 starts with a 6.20 ERA and a 1.571 WHIP.

I am not concerned with his struggles on the mound as it relates to an Under bet because the Reds bullpen has been stellar of late posting a 2.42 ERA and a 1.120 WHIP over their last seven games.

The Mets’ bullpen has been inconsistent during the winning streak, but their starter Carlos Carrasco is in excellent form, producing a 1.45 ERA and 1.018 WHIP over his last three starts.

Situational Trends and Angles

The following situational betting trends and angles support a bet on the Over-Under in this matchup.

  • The Reds are 52-35 Under when on the road and facing a solid bullpen sporting a 1.35 or lower WHIP in games played over the past two seasons.
  • The Reds are 19-9-1 Under after scoring two or fewer runs in games played this season.
  • Reds manager David Bell is 40-23-1 Under following two consecutive losses to the current opponent.

I am going to the window betting the Under 8.5 runs as offered at BetMGM.
