Throughout the season, we will give you betting advice for a National League and American League game each day and throw in a few quick pitches for player prop bets, Over-Under bets or moneyline bets on other games.

American League Best Bet

Tampa Bay Rays +120 at Boston Red Sox -130

7:10 p.m. ET

With Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Rich Hill on the 15-day injured list, the team is handing the ball to 23-year-old right-hander Brayan Bello, making his MLB debut.

Bello is the top prospect in the Red Sox farm system. At Triple-A Worcester, he posted a 6-2 record with a 2.81 ERA in nine starts.

The Rays are expected to start Corey Kluber, a 38-year-old right-hander who enters the game with a 3.91 ERA.

Check out this 2-minute video clip for the trends and angles that support my bet on the Red Sox.

I like the Red Sox in this matchup, priced as a -130 moneyline home favorite at BetMGM.

Interleague Best Bet

Los Angeles Angels +140 at Miami Marlins -155

6:40 p.m. ET

The Angels lost a tight 2-1 game to the Marlins on Tuesday. It was the Angels’ franchise-record seventh consecutive loss to a National League opponent.

On Wednesday, the Angels will look to right the ship.

This two-game series marks the first time that Angels star Shohei Ohtani, pictured, has played in Miami against the Marlins. He was the designated hitter on Tuesday and will be the starting pitcher on Wednesday. The right-hander enters the game with a 2.68 ERA.

Angels’ outfielder Mike Trout has struggled at the plate. He was hitless in his last 14 at-bats until getting a hit on Tuesday against the Marlins. The hitless streak was the second longest of his career. Earlier this season, he endured a dreadful 26 at-bats without a hit.

However, in this matchup, I like him in a prop bet to have at least two hits, at +290 as offered at FanDuel.

Trends and Angles That Support a Best Bet

Marlins starting pitcher Trevor Rogers is 8-20, losing 14 units on the moneyline, when facing a team that averages .5 or fewer stolen bases in games that he has started over the last two seasons.

The left-handed Rogers will take the mound with a 5.56 ERA.

It also is important to note that the Angels are 12-4 after having lost four or five of their last six games spanning the past two seasons.

I like the Angels in this one.

Quick Pitches

  1. Bet the Angels' Mike Trout to have 2 or more hits at +290 at FanDuel.
  2. Bet the Mets' David Peterson Over 2.5 earned runs at -105 at DraftKings.
  3. Bet Boston's J.D. Martinez to hit a home run at +450 at BetRivers Sportsbook.
