As hard as it is to believe, the Nets have not had two consecutive wins in over a month and I still believe they have the potential to win a title.

Currently at the BetMGM New York Sportsbook the Nets are +550 favorites to win the NBA Championship, behind the Golden State Warriors and Phoenix Suns at +450.

How Brooklyn Comes In Against New York

Brooklyn goes to Madison Square Garden to take on the New York Knicks at 7:30 p.m. ET tonight on ESPN.

In the Nets’ 109-85 win Monday against the Sacramento Kings as a 2.5-point home underdog, they never trailed.

The highlights of the postgame press conference were about how the chemistry in the locker room radically changed to “Everyone likes each other.” Whether intentionally stated or not, this culture change is a major positive factor that has the potential to propel the Nets to a title run.

Seth Curry, younger brother of Warriors superstar Steph Curry and acquired as part of the trade that sent James Harden to Philadelphia, led the Nets with 23 points on Monday.

The Nets are 30-27 straight-up (SU), despite losing 10 of their past 11 games. They are 22-23-2 against the spread (ATS) and have posted a 6-12 Over-Under record.

Knicks Need Wins Now

The New York Knicks sit in the 12th spot in the Eastern Conference standings and need to start winning urgently if they hope to reach the playoffs. They are 26-32 against the spread with a 27-31 Over-Under record.

The Knicks come in with the 27th-ranked offense, averaging 105 points per game despite being 21st in pace, averaging 86.53 shot attempts per game.

The Nets are 11th in scoring, averaging 110.9 points per game and 12th with 88.5 shot attempts per game.

The Knicks are 27th, making 43.40% of their shots, while the Nets rank fifth at 46.85.

From my predictive models, the Nets are expected to score 111 or more points and have fewer turnovers than the Knicks.

How We See the Wagering Options

Over the past five seasons, which the Nets met or exceeded these performance measures, betting the Over went on to a 66-17 SU record and 53-27-3 Over for 66% winning bets. When slicing the data to show road games installed as an underdog, the Over went on to earn a 33-9 SU and Over record for 73% winning bets.

I am going to the window for a bet on the Over in this matchup between the Brooklynn Nets and the New York Knicks.
