History of the Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles were founded in 1933 after the bankruptcy of the Frankford Yellow Jackets led to them leaving the sport. Bert Bell purchased the rights to a Philadelphia based franchise and launched the Eagles. Joining the NFL as an expansion team along with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the now defunct Cincinnati Reds.

After a rocky start, the Eagles ended up in the NFC East, where they still reside today. Alongside the New York Giants, Washington Commanders and the Dallas Cowboys. To date they have won 11 division championships, three conference championships, and finally captured their first Super Bowl win in 2018 when Nick Foles led the team glory as the team's backup quarterback against Tom Brady and Co of the New England Patriots.
