We’re at the one-month countdown until the end of the regular season and there are nine games on the schedule tonight with some interesting matchups.

We’re going to take a look at the New York Rangers vs. Pittsburgh Penguins game tonight to give those New York sports betting and Pennsylvania sports betting players some tips.

Over that next month, the notion is to prime bettors and readers alike for what will come next – Stanley Cup betting. In the meantime, let’s get down to business.

Rangers vs. Penguins Overview

The New York Rangers travel across the Pennsylvania Turnpike to take on the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday night.

This is a huge Metropolitan Division clash. Why? New York is one point behind Pittsburgh in the standings. There are still around 15 games left in the regular season but seeding starts to matter this time of year.

The fun part of betting on the NHL is this. When there is a great equalizer, moneyline can suddenly carry a little more intrigue than usual.

Rangers Need Sesterkin to be Good

The New York Rangers rise and fall on the shoulders of Igor Shesterkin.

Shesterkin is an all-world goaltender that can tilt the fortunes of a game. His numbers have fluctuated a bit of late but he has 31 wins in 42 starts with a .762 quality start percentage. Simply, he keeps his team in the game.

This belies a New York Rangers offense that can put pucks in the net. They possess the second-best power-play in the NHL at 26.4%.

New York is a team of runs. The Rangers connected on four straight Overs then took three games off before seeing three consecutive Overs currently.

Penguins Can Score in Bunches

Pittsburgh does not have a 40+ goal scorer in Chris Kreider but they have Evgeni Malkin and Sidney Crosby. Add in Jake Guentzel, who has 31 goals in 61 games and the Penguins are plenty dangerous enough.

By the way, Pittsburgh just scored 11 times against Detroit over the weekend.

The Penguins have also hit on three straight Over scenarios. The trends are very interesting right down to looking at the team Over a little more intently on this Tuesday night slate.

Do not be afraid to go against the NHL betting landscape a little.
