The NHL has 10 games on this busy slate of a Thursday night. It is later in the week, so usually, this night features plenty of chaos. This gives us a chance to test some theories.

This will be a shorter edition than usual compared to ordinary Thursdays, but we wanted to help you with your NHL betting.

Florida Panthers at Philadelphia Flyers

The last time we trusted the Flyers to dispose of the Panthers. Yes, we were correct on the Moneyline but not the Puckline. Oh, the Over did not come close. What are the Philadelphia Flyers?

Carter Hart has been incredible in goal. Unlike the Florida goaltenders, Hart has carried the Flyers. He has four wins in four starts allowing just seven goals on 137 shots. Philadelphia allows 33 a contest.

Could the Panthers’ power play wake up? They are converting at just 6.1%, which ranks 30th in the league. Yes, it is early. However, the man advantage is alarming. Even Florida’s shooting percentage is just 8.5% which is 25th in the league. Despite that, the Panthers are somehow averaging three goals a game.

This means the production is going to increase at some point. It is difficult to see a team with as much offensive talent as the Panthers struggle for much longer. Equally, the numbers being put up by Carter Hart are nearly as unsustainable. Has Hart been incredible? Yes. Can Florida score four again on Thursday? Also, yes.

Expect the game to be full of scoring chances. Both teams want to play with pace, and the Flyers’ defense lends itself to yielding chances (27th in the league in prevention). Florida in regulation at -135 is much more digestible than that -210 moneyline

Washington Capitals at Dallas Stars

The Dallas Stars return home and face the Washington Capitals on Thursday night. Jake Oettinger projects to get the start in goal against Darcy Kuemper for Washington. The Stars lost two straight on the road, including a 4-2 setback to Ottawa earlier in the week and a loss to Boston on Tuesday night.

On the bright side, Dallas has looked much better at home. In their two wins, the Stars were able to score nine times. The concern is Miro Heiskanen. The Finnish defenseman may still be out on Thursday night. His shoulder was sore and will be re-evaluated today before making a decision.

That is an essential piece of news, so that solid looking -130 Moneyline might have to wait. The number could swing a little, depending on the news. Washington at +105 is gripping. The money might go to them at a higher rate, especially if Heiskanen is out. If that is the case, an Alex Ovechkin shot prop quickly comes into play.

St. Louis Blues at Nashville Predators

What does one do here? St. Louis comes off a tough home loss where it gave up two late goals (one empty-net). Meanwhile, Nashville has yet to win a game in North America (0-4-1). The Predators' home loss to the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday is worse. Nashville scored one goal. One. Considering the Flyers were a team that regularly gave up three or more goals at will last season, that was a bitter pill to swallow.

They are the well-rested team going up against a Blues team on the back end of a back-to-back. This is why Nashville is around -165 on the Moneyline despite their record. Its in-regulation number comes in at -110. There are no easy decisions here. Nino Niederreiter has one goal in his last five. Filip Forsberg and Matt Duchene have just two goals each. It is early, but the “European Hangover” has taken on its own meaning.

When does Nashville snap out of it? Tonight would be a good time to do so. If Jordan Binnington gets a breather, this might be the time.
