It’s the first set of midweek games in the new Premier League season and we’re treated with 10 fixtures to look forward to across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Last week was another crazy game week in England, with Liverpool equalling the record for the biggest win in Premier League history, just as Manchester City’s superstar striker, Erling Haaland, scored his first hat trick. Here’s our Premier League betting advice for this week.

Game of the Week

Man United -105 at Leicester City +250

Manchester United is in town for Leicester City Thursday to conclude the set of midweek fixtures, and the Foxes head into the game knowing that another defeat could keep them bottom of the Premier League table.

With this in mind, and considering United’s woes so far, it could be the game where Leicester gets its first win of the season. United is on a two-game winning run after beating Liverpool and Southampton. It got its first shutout of the season at Southampton.

Leicester, however, cannot afford to lose again. If it does, it could be the end of Brendan Rodgers as its manager and it would also mean four defeats in five games. The Foxes must turn up with their best, making for an enticing encounter at the King Power Stadium.

United looks better now that it has won some games, and we think the improved form will be enough to get the victory at Leicester.

Man Utd to win and over 2.5 goals are +180 with Caesars.

Best Bet of the Week

Chelsea -185 at Southampton +490

Although Chelsea is -185 to win at Southampton, its recent results give it the edge to get all three points. Chelsea just beat Leicester City 2-1, with Raheem Sterling scoring his first two Premier League goals. With Southampton continuing to struggle, the Blues should win quite comfortably here now that they have started to tick.

At times, Southampton did look good against Man United, but it failed to mount any real threats toward its defense. It keeps Southampton on just one win in four Premier League games this season, and it seems the team won't score at all if Che Adams is not scoring for the Saints.

Chelsea bounced back from its 3-0 loss to Leeds United by beating Leicester, and in truth, that loss remains its only bad spell so far in 2022/23. After another win, we’re backing the Blues to get all three points at Southampton.

Chelsea to beat Southampton 2-0 is +750 with DraftKings.

Team of the Week

Liverpool

Liverpool beat Bournemouth 9-0, so nobody else would claim the status as the best team from last week.

Liverpool went up 5-0 in the first half, and added another four in the second. It joins Tottenham Hotspur, Leicester City and Manchester United as the only teams to win a game 9-0.

An own goal in the second half, another from Luis Diaz, and a first Liverpool goal for Fabio Carvalho came in the second half, as the Reds saw six different goal scorers against Bournemouth.

Liverpool to beat Newcastle 3-0 is +850 with FanDuel.

Player of Last Week

Roberto Firmino, Liverpool

If Liverpool won 9-0, it’s only fair to vote one for one of its players as the player of last week from that record-equalling win. Roberto Firmino is our choice, with the Brazilian reminding Liverpool fans why he is the forgotten man in its squad.

He scored twice and assisted on another. Diaz scored two great headers in the match, but with Firmino creating a goal as well, he is our choice for the player of the week. At the same time, he will likely play again this weekend with Darwin Nunez’s suspension and Diogo Jota’s injury continuing into the game against Newcastle.

Haaland could have also gotten this vote after three goals against Crystal Palace, but in some ways, he is expected to do that at home to weaker opposition.

A goal to be scored between the 11th and 20th minute is +320 with FanDuel

Hardest Game to Call

Brentford +260 at Crystal Palace +160

Brentford and Palace will meet at Selhurst Park in another London derby this season, and it is proving to be a challenging game to call. As of now, Palace has managed to rack up an impressive tie at Liverpool, but by losing to Arsenal and Man City, it remains very inconsistent this season.

Brentford is in the same boat. Its stunning 4-0 win against Man United seems like a distant memory after a tie with Everton and a 3-2 loss to Fulham, which now puts Brentford ahead of Palace by one point in the league.

If Brentford can return to its former glory against Man United, it should win here. However, nothing shows it will do that in this game, and Palace will be confident in getting a win on home soil just as it did against Aston Villa.

We’re heading for a tie here, with both teams likely going to battle just above the relegation zone again this season.

A tie in this game is +250 with DraftKings.
