Throughout the season, we will give you betting advice for a National League and American League game each day and throw in a few quick pitches for prop bets, Over-Under bets or moneyline bets on other games.

National League

San Francisco at Atlanta Braves

7:25 p.m.

The Giants have won seven of their past 10 games, but that pales in comparison to the hot streak posted by the Braves, who have gone 16-2 in June.

In that 18-game stretch, Atlanta has hit 39 home runs and outscored their opponents by 49 runs.

Over their past seven games, the Braves are batting .261 and scoring 5.9 RPG, including 20 home runs.

The Giants are batting .212 over their past 10 games, ranking sixth-worst in MLB. The Braves are not a team to fade in the betting markets, especially in this matchup.

What the Betting System Says

This bet on the Braves is supported by one of my more than 4,000 betting algorithms and systems, with this specific one earning a 42-11 record for 79% winning bets over the past five seasons. The requirements are:

  • Bet on home teams priced as a favorite.
  • Our team has a bullpen posting a season-to-date ERA of 3.50 or lower on the season.
  • Our team is facing a solid offensive team scoring an average of 4.7 RPG.
  • The foe has batted no better than .220 over their last 10 games.

I am going to bet the Braves on the moneyline as -180 favorites at DraftKings.

American League

Kansas City Royals at Los Angeles Angels

9:38 p.m.

My research and predictive models grade the Angels as the most undervalued team in MLB right now and they are a team to play on over the next several weeks.

Their tandem superstars of Mike Trout and reigning AL MVP Shohei Ohtani are getting it together of late. Trout has hit five home runs over his last six games. June is Trout’s hottest month, and I expect that to continue well into July.

Reid Detmers, who pitched a no-hitter earlier this year is starting for the Angels. He is 2-3 with a 4.25 ERA and a 1.075 WHIP in 11 starts.

Over his last three starts, he has a 2.92 ERA and 1.622 WHIP. As it always does, the no-hitter leads to a period of starts that become below average because of the high pitch counts.

He appears to be fully recovered from that amount of work and I expect him to pitch well tonight.

I am going to bet the Angels on the moneyline at -160 at DraftKings.
