MLS 2023 Week 10 Picks and Analysis

After a lot of drama in the U.S Open Cup action in midweek, we’re back with our MLS picks for the weekend for Week 10.

Atlanta United (+220) at Nashville (+105)

Despite being in third place in the Eastern Conference, Atlanta United suffered a shocking U.S. Open Cup loss to Memphis 901. At the same time, Nashville edged past San Antonio in its cup game, but it is behind Atlanta by eight points in the standings.

Only St. Louis City has scored more than Atlanta this season so far, so we’re expecting a few goals in this one.

PICK: Both teams to score, over 2.5 goals and Hany Mukhtar to score anytime is +253 with DraftKings Sportsbook.

Inter Miami (+380) at Columbus Crew (-160)

Inter Miami played a thrilling contest against Miami FC in the midweek cup games and won on penalties.

The Columbus Crew edged past Indy Eleven in the U.S Open Cup but lost to Charlotte last weekend. Nevertheless, we expect another win for the Crew.

PICK: Under 3.5 goals, Columbus Crew to win and Cucho Hernandez to score anytime is +454 with FanDuel Sportsbook.

LA Galaxy (+195) at Orlando City (+110)

LA Galaxy finally won a game last weekend by easing to a 2-0 victory against Austin.

Orlando has still only managed to score eight times in its eight games this season and has lost three and won three after its shocking loss to D.C. United last time out.

We expect only a few goals here and for Orlando to win.

PICK: Orlando to win or tie, Ercan Kara to score anytime and under 9.5 corners is +360 with BetMGM Sportsbook.

Cincinnati (+210) at New England (+110)

It's the biggest game of the MLS season so far when the top two in the Eastern Conference meet in Boston. The New England Revolution is sitting at the top of the conference on goal difference, having scored three more goals and let in two fewer than Cincinnati.

Both teams won in U.S. Open Cup games on Wednesday, and with barely anything separating the two, we think a tie is in order here.

PICK: A tie is +240 with Unibet Sportsbook.

New York City (+190) at Toronto (+125)

Despite the odds favoring Toronto, we think it loses again after a defeat for the Canadian team and coach Bob Bradley last weekend.

Toronto, which has won only one game this years, let in four goals in the last game against Philadelphia Union.

New York is at Toronto, however, so we expect a low-scoring win.

PICK: New York to win and under 2.5 goals is +561 with FanDuel Sportsbook.

Charlotte (+270) at D.C. United (-120)

After winning just one of its first eight games in 2023, Charlotte has started to turn things around with a 1-0 win over the Columbus Crew and a 4-1 victory over South Georgia Tormenta.

D.C. United is in a similar situation but has won its past three games, stunning Orlando City 3-1 in Florida last weekend.

We think both will score, and D.C. will win.

PICK: D.C. United to win and both teams to score is +235 with DraftKings Sportsbook.

New York Red Bulls (+190) at Chicago Fire (+135)

The New York Red Bulls continue to experience one of its worst-ever starts to an MLS season with another loss last weekend against Montreal.

Worse yet, with Montreal sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, the Red Bulls are now within just two points of last place and have scored just six goals in nine games.

The Chicago Fire eased to a 3-0 win against Chicago House in the U.S Open Cup and has lost just one of its past seven games.

PICK: Chicago to win at half time and full time, Xherdan Shaqiri to score anytime and over 5.5 corners in the game is +625 with FanDuel Sportsbook.

Portland Timbers (+300) at St. Louis City (-130)

St. Louis got its second 5-1 win of the season when it beat Union Omaha on Wednesday.

The Portland Timbers did beat Orange County 3-1 in its U.S. Open Cup midweek game, but it has now failed to have a shutout for five games.

St. Louis is at the top of the Western Conference standings and should win quite easily here.

PICK: St. Louis to win, Joao Klauss to score anytime and over 2.5 goals is +323 with FanDuel Sportsbook.

Montreal (+300) at Sporting Kansas City (-130)

Last place in the Eastern Conference plays against last place in the Western Conference this Saturday, as Montreal sits three points above Sporting Kansas City in the overall standings.

We’re picking a tie in this one because of the terrible form so far from the two teams, and Kansas City is still yet to win a game in the 2023 MLS season.

PICK: A 0-0 or 1-1 tie is +360 with FanDuel Sportsbook.

San Jose Earthquakes (+240) at Austin (-110)

After a defeat against the LA Galaxy, Austin has not won in its past five MLS games, scoring only one goal during this period.

Despite Austin being the favorite, it's hard to pick them in this game. The San Jose Earthquakes have lost their past two games after a 3-1 defeat to Real Salt Lake and an upset at the hands of Monterey Bay in the U.S. Open Cup.

It’s a tough game to call, so we’re predicting only a few goals.

PICK: Under 2.5 goals is +118 with Unibet Sportsbook.

Seattle Sounders (+150) at Real Salt Lake (+155)

According to the odds, this is the toughest game to call. We are, however, predicting another Seattle Sounders win, as the Sounders have scored 22 goals in 10 games this season.

Seattle did concede four goals in the thrilling 5-4 win against San Diego Loyal, but Real Salt Lake has conceded 18 goals in nine games, so we struggle to see how it avoids letting in a few goals against such an incredible goalscoring opponent.

PICK: Seattle to win, Raul Ruidiaz to score anytime and over 2.5 goals is +360 with DraftKings Sportsbook

Colorado Rapids (+330) at Vancouver Whitecaps (-135)

It's been a strange season so far for the Vancouver Whitecaps with it losing only two MLS games in eight matches. However, in two of its past three games, Vancouver also smashed Montreal 5-0 and beaten Portland 1-0.

Colorado has won just one game and scored only six times, and even that victory was against winless Kansas City.

It makes this one an easy pick.

PICK: Vancouver to win by exactly two goals is +410 with Unibet Sportsbook.

Dallas (+195) at Minnesota United (+120)

Dallas has a great chance to win at Minnesota United this Sunday with the Loons coming into this game off the back of three MLS losses in a row.

Dallas did lose to New York City last weekend, but it is fourth in the Western Conference and has scored four more goals than Minnesota.

However, as Minnesota is at home, we’re picking a tie.

PICK: A 1-1 tie is +575 with BetMGM Sportsbook.
