Watch where the over ends up on Tuesday night. There is some clue that this could move to 6, but it stays at 5.5. Again, this series is all about pace. If Carolina asserts its forecheck, New Jersey is in trouble. If New Jersey pushes the tempo at even strength, the Hurricanes struggle. Last-line change is crucial, but so is a player like Luke Hughes for New Jersey.
The young rookie got thrown into a heck of a situation. However, this is the kind of thing a big brother can help with. Jack Hughes felt more at ease on Sunday, and even Timo Meier scored. Expect quite the tilt tonight with an angry Hurricanes team led by Sebastian Aho.
Dallas Stars at Seattle Kraken.
No one will say it on Dallas, but the puck that clocked Miro Heiskanen was strange. There were a few murmurs it appeared intentional. However, the one thing it did was change the complexion of Game 3. Seattle scored on that play and scored four more goals that second period. They went on to a 7-2 win.
Can Dallas bounce back, or will tonight feature more home cooking from Climate Pledge Arena? Now, 13 different players scored at least a point on Sunday night. That is the calling card of Seattle this season. Balance.
